Check out animation house/production house reels:

    Here are a few:

    MK12
    https://media2.mk12.com/mk12_version_five.html

    Eyeball NYC
    https://eyeballnyc.com/

    Stitch Motion Graphics:
    https://www.stitch.net

That’s just a start. Why not look up some animation houses and go to their websites?

    Take it easy,

    Aharon

AE comes with 90 days of free installation support. You should definately contact adobe support via phone for this. They will walk you through installation issues.

just to reiterate that, back in AE 5.5, they came out with a new 3D rendering plugin called advanced 3D. Eralier copies of 5.5 did not come with it, and you had to download it from the site.

In your composition settings (CTRL+K) go into the advanced Tab, and in the pull down for Rendering Plugin, it will may say Basic 3D or something like that. Use the pulldown to reveal “Advanced 3D.”

Basic 3D doesn’t allow objects to interact, and the result is a flickering as they compete for which object is in front.

Until AE 6.5, I tyhink Basic 3D was the defualt setting. Even if you are using a current version of AE, it may for some reason, be defaulting to Basic 3D instead of Advanced 3D.

It really depends on the nature of the blood spray. It’s been one of the harder ones to simulate, but do a search for “Blood Spray” in the archives, and I think you;ll find a few strings that might help you along.

    Man, that was funny.

Check out the file I posted – it uses 5 or 6 phonemes, and time remapping to bring them up (So you litterelaly just type a number to bring up the mouth you want), and it works really well.

What I do is hold down CTRL while I scrub, and based on the sound I hear, I type in a number that represents the mouth (So B, P, M might be # 3 – or frame 00.00.00.03 in the nested comp).

Anway, check it out – we were using this method at Nickelodeon for several projects, which is where i picked it up.

Actually, I do this in a similar fasion, but I use time remapping with mouth shapes – here’s an example:

The audio is probably in a format or codec that AE doesn’t understand. Convert the Audio file to WAV or AIFF – but not MP3 – While AE can read MP3’s, it doesn’t handle them well upon output.

  • That is definately the tutorial to get you started.

I hate to sound so self-promotional (not so much I won’t do it though), but I cover working with AE and PI in depth in my Creative Cow Master Series training dvd found here:
