    Hi Jonathon,

May I ask what kind of storage subsystem are you using from this system? Thanks

Based on personal experience, there is no speed difference when editing on a Windows platform while accessing media from Mac formatted drives using Macdrive.

Now with the slew of shifters from FCP to Premiere Pro, I hope Blackmagic develops a Windows version of Da Vinci Resolve too.

Now that David mentioned it, the timeline does scan smoother when it is zoomed in than when its zoomed out. I never noticed that before. Not sure if you know the shortcut Tom, but its the + and – keys on the alphanumeric keyboard [not the numeric keypad]

Same here. I’m a bit embarrassed to say it but I can’t help but feel a bit vindicated now that pro users see how well Premiere has matured over the years. I have been scoffed at many times in the past for using PPro for real TVC online editing environment. I truly hope the 3rd party vendors see that too and start developing some serious plugins for PPro which were previously only available on FCP7.

So as not to be off topic Chris, I too am using the BMD cards and I believe that the audio meters do not move/update during capture/loop through of audio. It used to update back in the Matrox Digisuite days, but stopped once I moved to the BMD hardware. I think you should be asking this question in the BMD forum.

I agree with Shawn here. Don’t forget your storage subsystem. Most top end motherboard come with a built in RAID card. It would be best if you could get 3 x 1TB or 2TB drives and do a 3way stripe. That will prepare you for any footage that will come your way, including Uncompressed HD files.
