    Hi there.

This message usually comes up to me when I´m trying to preview a comp and the timeline indicator is at the last frame (and I have the preview set to from current time).

It means you just have one frame so there´s no was AE can create an animation.

I don´t know much about your situation (comp lengh, size, poit in time…) but it came to mind.

Hope it was of some help.

    Cheers.

You have to render it with a codec that supports the ALPHA CHANNEL.

As you are talking about cartoon I would suggest to use quicktime animation and check the RGB+ALPHA on the render settings.

To know more about alpha channels and stuff like that check some tutorial here on the cow as well as the help file on AE.

Hope I was of some help.

    Cheers.

  • Hi David. I don´t know much about the elements you´re using on your comp but you can add a null object to the comp and parent all the layers to it. Then you can scale the null and everything shall be fine.

Or you can drag your 1080 comp into a new NTSC DV comp and scale it down to fit but then you won´t be able to add anything to it properly.

Those are the ways that came to my mind. Maybe some of the masters around here will come up with some nicer way.

Anyway I hope it was of some help. All the best.

    Hi there again.

Do you happen to have some huge layers?

Did you try the Secret settings?

Might help in cases like that. Helped me before.

    All the best.

  • You´re most welcome!

Glad I could help. Hope everything turns out great for your project.

    Cheers!

  • I guess those can be good points to start:

    https://www.facemorpher.com/

    https://www.morpheussoftware.net/

    https://www.fantamorph.com/

There used to be a free one. Googleing morph software may help you a little more.

Those are solutions outside after effects. To try something on AE you might want to check out Eran’s great tutorial here:

    https://library.creativecow.net/articles/stern_eran/Simple_Morph.php

Well hope it helped. Good luck!

    Cheers.

March 24, 2009 at 1:48 pm in reply to: Help on getting motion blur to work in AE

If you imported the card animation allready animated from maya you´ll never have motion blur from AE because actually nothing is moving. AE is only seeing a file. In order to have the motion blur on something pre-rendered you have to precompose that layer that contains the animation and apply CC Force Motion Blur to it.

I´m sorry if I got ot wrong but since you said you rendered you animation in maya and imported it to AE I figured that was the issue.

    Cheers.

Well I´m in Bra$il and brazilian keyboards do not have that ability. We do have (and have to use often on writing) all the ´ ` ^ ~ signs but the keys seem to work in a different way.

The key close to the 1 actually brings up the safe frame. I tried all kinds of shifts and controls and alts but never sucessed.

What I can do is press CTRL+SHIFT and that changes to US keyboard so I can press that infamous tilde key by the side of number 1. Than I press it again to go back to portugueseBR kb. But sometimes it can make a terrible mess on your brain.

Does anybody have a better solution?

I wold love to have the shortcut avaliable. I love shortcuts and I hate activating things with my mouse.

Thanx Gabriel for bringing the issue up and sorry for not helping!

    Cheers.

March 23, 2009 at 9:09 pm in reply to: How To Edit Still Images in AE ?

You can render them as JPEG, PNG, PSD……………….

Or you can choose Composition>Save Frame As>File or Photoshop Layers

And also you can import the PSD files in AE as compositions so you keep the hability to edit the layers and mess with them independently.

Hope I was of some help.

    Cheers.
