Yes, known issues.
Quicktime on Vista is a bit of an experimental journey at this time (as suggested by Apple in Quicktime’s web page).
However, it is possible that some issues could be worked out in the Public Preview 2 build. Did you try that already? If you didn’t, please update and let me know how it goes. Before updating, please Deactivate (Help > Deactivate) Public Preview 1, uninstall it (by using the Progams control panel on Vista) and only then install Public Preview 2 (found on Adobe Labs, as usual).

What a comforting message.
It has been updated ast week. And from what I’m seeing, most users find these Quicktime-related issues are gone in Public Preview 2.Adolfo Rozenfeld

Gradient Map is one of the very, very few PS Adjustment layer effects that are not translated to an equivalent AE effect…. because the exact AE equivalent doesn’t exist 🙂Adolfo Rozenfeld

After Effects text animation engine was designed so that you DON”T have to separate characters to different layers and animate them one at a time. And in CS3, it’s getting the amazing ability to work in 3D as well.
If you have CS3 Public Preview you can do this easily.
Select the text layer and go to Animation > Animate Text > Enable per character 3D (or use the Add menu inside the text layer)
Now go again to Animation > Animate Text > Rotation (or, you know, use the Add menu inside…)You will get three rotation properties inside the text animator group.
Set Y Rotation to -90 -
The CS3 Public Preview does allow third party plug-ins.
You just need an updated version of the plug-in for Intel-based Macs.
In the case of CycoreFX, which comes bundled with AE, it will be included in the final product. Just like Color Finesse and Keylight.
Other third party developers will announced Intel Mac-ready at ship time, and a few already released them!Adolfo Rozenfeld

Hi, Solie.
You can find the clean-up scripts here:
https://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.htmlI’m afraid yes, it will erase anything CS3, including the already released design suite applications. You can then install everything again. All of this should not be needed for the release version of AE (but removing the public preview with the uninstaller will still be necessary).

How did you uninstall Public Preview 1? Did you use the Add/Remove Programs control panel? If you didn’t, try that. If you did use it, apparently there are some remaining bits. You would then have to use the CS3 clean-up script. It will erase any remaining bits of Public Preview 1 (but it will also erase any other Adobe CS3 application, which you will have to reinstall).
