In the Sketch effect settings, check edges (only) in the lines tab. In the same tab, under culling, set the type to Objects. Uncheck the self culling box. In the shading tab, turn off object shading (and background if you wish). Then place a 100% transparent material on your object.
In the render tab I would suggest that you set Line AA to off and then turn on Best AA in the regular Anti-Aliasing settings.

The main things to be aware of are the “tolerant selection” and “select only visible” options in the selection tools. If tolerant selection is enabled and you use marquee selection, polygons will be selected if the marquee passes through any part of the polygon. Only visible is self explanatory.
If unselected polys are seemingly being deleted then something weird is going on with your model. It could have illegal geometry.
Generally I think it’s better to delete points rather than polygons. If you delete polygons and go into points mode you’ll see that deleting polygons actually leaves the points behind.

April 18, 2014 at 12:26 am in reply to: Making an Object Follow the Contours of Another?I think the easiest way would be to draw a straight spline following the desired path of the road. Then subdivide the spline and use Mesh>Spline>Project to project it onto your landscape. Once that’s done you can either clone directly onto the spline or use a spline effector.

You probably need to adjust the Min/Max ray length settings in the AO shader.

I think buckets are only distributed for single-frame renders. But why would you want to do for all frames? Distributing buckets would increase network traffic and thus slow down your render.

I would call your local Maxon representative to find out. Generally when you buy a new copy of Cinema it comes with a temporary registration number. Once you register the software you get a permanent number. But r10 is waaay old (2007) and I’m not sure if Maxon still supports it.

Just select iPMocap:Hips track in the timeline and in the Attributes Manager set Track Properties>After to Offset Repeat. Then set the number of repetitions you want.

Thanks, I KNEW there was an easier way! Must be gettin’ senile.
I prefer my Rube Goldberg method. 🙂

I have this nagging feeling that there’s an easy way to do it that I’ve forgotten, but maybe not. In any case, I did up a video tutorial explaining a somewhat convoluted way to do it. You can view it here: https://www.3danvil.com/tutorials/Text%20around%20a%20circle/Text%20around%20a%20circle/Text%20around%20a%20circle.html
