  • You save polygon selection and then drag the selection tag into the material tag’s “Selection” box.

  • Oh yeah, forgot about that! But will it keep the materials if you make it editable?

  • It’s possible, but a bit of a PITA. You have to assign material selection tags to each individual object before you connect the models. The new object will retain the material selection tags, but you have to reassign the materials to them manually. :/

I think Cinema only supports Truetype fonts. Maybe you’re not seeing your Postscript fonts?

Motion capture or motion tracking? There’s no tracking built in, but Mocca has a sort of motion capture utility to record live screen manipulations.

If you’re looking for tracking software and you’re on a PC you might want to look at Syntheyes. The cost is about 10% of its competitors’ and from what I hear the results are quite comparable.

Try using the regular grid option on the caps, with a small enough number to give you a lot of faces.

Yeah, I haven’t answered this because it’s really too broad–like, “how do I use this program”? You need to read the manual or at minimum follow some of the basic tutorials here, at Maxon’s site, or wherever you can find what you need.

One note, you’ll have to use the Structure Manager’s copy/paste commands to create the original spline.
