    It would probably be easier to look at an example.

    I would use a layer shader in your alpha channel and multiply a gradient over your lines.

    I would wait if I was you. I haven’t seen reports on v.9.x, but people are getting slow performance with v10.x. Apparently Apple only got the release build of Leopard to developers the week before they shipped, and it had significant changes compared to previous betas.

    There are several ways to do it. The most direct is to drag/select you keyframes, then control/drag one of them to create/move your selection.

    Another way is to select them with the region select tool, copy (control + c), then drag another region and paste.

    You would give the object a display tag and then animate the visibility parameter.

    If you don’t want the back side of your geometry to show through as it fades in/out, do the following:

    *give your object a compositing tag;

    *go the tag’s exclusion tab and drag your object into it;

    *click the transparency icon to the right of your object in the exclude box to activate it (straight arrow going through line).

    FYI, you don’t have to use lights for this anymore. Now you can assign an “External Compositing” tag to any object and it’s axis location/rotation will transfer to AE as long as you have the “3D data” box checked in the render>save options.

    You can create a background object, create a material with your greenscreen footage in the color channel, and put the material on the BG object. Cinema isn’t specifically set up to key greenscreen, but you can probably do a reasonable using the alpha channel of your material.

    Yes, you can do that with a gradient.

    LOD doesn’t take size/scale into account, but you could set this up with Xpresso.
