  • Animate an elements alpha channel in C4D?

    Hi,

    I am pretty new to cinema 4d and I was wondering how you animate the alpha of individual elements like you can in after effects / flash etc.

    I want and object to alpha in then move.

    Is this possible in C4D.

    You would give the object a display tag and then animate the visibility parameter.

    If you don’t want the back side of your geometry to show through as it fades in/out, do the following:

    *give your object a compositing tag;

    *go the tag’s exclusion tab and drag your object into it;

    *click the transparency icon to the right of your object in the exclude box to activate it (straight arrow going through line).

    Many thanks for your answer. It worked great!

    I have another question:

    How can i copy keyframes from the time line to place them again further down so as to reverse the animation?

    Many thanks for your help

    There are several ways to do it. The most direct is to drag/select you keyframes, then control/drag one of them to create/move your selection.

    Another way is to select them with the region select tool, copy (control + c), then drag another region and paste.
