forget mice….get yourself a wacom Intuos3 widescreen tablet. Its so much more comfortable, and it actually speeds up your working and helps reduce RSI.
Since i got mine, i hate using mice!

Hi Walter,
the updates are all the latest ones. I have also updated to 10.4.10 this morning, and so far, its not doing the crazy frame to a shot stuff….but the updating on the monitor is still slower than it was prior to the upgrades.
I’m connected from the Kona 3 to the JVC TM-H1950C crt via SDI.

June 27, 2007 at 12:28 pm in reply to: FC Studio 2 and AJA Kona 3 10 Bit RGB Codec troublesThis might not be the right answer, but it might help you to find a solution…i found an incorrect setting in the Kona 3 system. In FCP, the capture setting AJA Kona 3:625 25 10 Bit is incorrectly set to use 525 NTSC !!
To correct, use the edit button, then change to pal 625 settings.adam

“I think these have just been superseded by the 8000 range but I’m sure they’ll be equally as good. ”
I auditioned a pair of 8030’s alongside my old 1029a’s and the PMC DB1SA. I was astonished at how dreadful the 8030’s were! very muddy, boomy lower end, wooly mid-range and the top was just harsh. I got plenty of others into the suite to see their reactions and every one agreed – terrible speaker!

I used to use Genelec 1029a’s but found them to be quite fatiguing on the old ears. After demoing lots of options I now insist on having PMC monitors. The most accurate sounding monitors i have heard whilst still being cost-effective. Clarity and definition are stunning.
Only problem is they will be more than you have in your budget. I paid

well to counter that last post – i too work in the happy land of PAL and am very satisfied with the Kona 3.
Its been rock solid, for both input and output of SDI. I have not used it for other formats so i can’t comment on those.adam

Doh!!
i have found the cure!!
it seems when i selected the offending tracks and told FCP to “Render only… needs render”, it was not rendering the freeze but leaving it in a preview state.
Forcing a full render of all video cures the problem.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
