use VIEW/EDIT DETAILS for length of anything you select

also, when you loop an area of the timeline, you can see total length in bottom right hand corner of timeline, tho I have the feeling am not really understanding your question……..

you don’t have any video buttons on the video timeline, do you?

    hehehe, found solution:

    1) only add video to dvd ONCE

    2) when creating video buttons on timeline, *MUST* specify same video as self (eg PLAY ALL track), and then option for specific chapter is available

no need for all the hassle of adding video multiple times, and changing in/out points etc

    nice!

downside is that the video needs to be recompressed due to the buttons, so better to bring it into DVDA as .AVI

urrgh, not so good. when one adds buttons to the video, it regards the video as requiring new compression – NOT good.

so, in effect, my video now has been physically added to the DVD 3 times, going beyond the bounds of disk (aside from the issue of recompressing the video)

    do not like this…..

FWIW, have edited footage off that camera without any hiccups, on both Vegas Studio 9 and Pro 8. Did capture using non-vegas app (don’t ask) and then simply dropped files on timeline.

point is, it does work normally…………

use pan/crop to get what you need, then track motion to move that piece

you could also drop them into DVDA and set the end destination for each chapter to be the subsequent chapter. done it before, and only hiccup is slight pause as it changes chapter – very slight.

if you don’t want to see the individual chapters in the menu, just drop the first one on the menu, and subsequent chapters into the root of the DVD.

easily done, and no recompressing necessary.

try increasing your screen resolution, just in order to find the missing window

eg if moving from 1024×768 to 1600×1200, the missing window should now be on the screen

been using 8.1 on V64 business since it came out. Have 8c but hardly use it. no problems with .mov or any other file, so far.
