I am having the same error and I cannot find help anywhere. Are you using Leopard? I have the update for Encore to version 3.0.2 – which is supposed to make it fully compatible, but that did not help either. I was also having this issue on the PC – and the microsoft patch listed above did resolve the issue, but now that its a mac we are talking about, I cannot find anything.

March 18, 2008 at 11:09 pm in reply to: Missing Export File?

    Update:

I figured it had something to do with the cache files that are created when importing the file initially, so I closed encore, changed the name of the target file, then re-linked the missing footage. It spent a half hour importing, so I figured I was good, but I still get the same error when trying to build. The timeline scrubs fine, the preview works…. So I just don’t get it.

I think it was that the file was just to big. I am on a PC so toast is not available, although I did just go get Nero 8, which supports blu-ray image burning.

No, I do not. Do you think it would help? Someone told me to use Thinking Particles, but his explanation sounded really complex for someone who has never used them before. Plus I am on a really tight schedule so I need to lock the animation in as soon as possible. Would using Mograph be easier?

I learned everything I know about the program from scratch from the Lynda.com tutorials. I still re-watch some of the clips on a per-project basis to freshen up on a subject or if I am stuck. I have found that set for C4d to be invaluable and highly recommend going that route. I did come from a 3ds background, so I cannot guarantee it is the best for a “noob”, but since C4d works radically different than any other 3d app I have used, I would imagine it is safe for a beginner.

February 25, 2008 at 5:51 pm in reply to: HELP – Hard Drive Dead how do i save my project?

As long as you saved the project on a different drive, or had automatic back up saves on a different drive, you can just batch capture everything in the bin again – assuming you named your tapes correctly during the original capture. Once everything is captured again, your edit will be right back to the way it was.

For the media that you have been able to copy over, just right click on an item in the bin, choose replace file with / find file / reconnect media (whatever it is in this program), point to the new location, and all files in the same directory will automatically be found as long as your file and folder structure is the same as before.

  • Thank you and that is great information. However, I must admit that I am a motion graphics artist and do not have much experience with command-line scripting. I can get myself around the registry editor steps for the codec optimization etc; I just fall short in understanding of how to get these to work together via command line. Are there any links that cover the cammand-line / scripting part of this?

July 13, 2007 at 5:11 pm in reply to: Blender Model.. How to convert?

I have been searching high and low for the past two days for information on how to get a model from blender to Cinema 4d. This is not a blender forum, I know, but I am running out of time and options. The client delivered a model in a .blend format and nothing seems to work to get it into another application. I have tried installing blender and exporting .3ds, .obj etc and it only crashes whatever program I am trying to import the model into. I have tried PolyTrans, which does not seem to support .blend models at all… I cannot find any straight forward info that isn’t filled with customized scripting. Does anybody have experience with this and know where to go from here?

September 4, 2006 at 11:26 pm in reply to: 16×9 footage captured as 4×3 needs to go as 16×9 on dvd

Thanks for the response, but I have tried that. It leaves the tires (black bars above and below the 16×9 footage) and includes that in the squeeze. Below is a link to a screen capture I took. The video on the left is with anamorphic checked and the one on the right is of the footage as I currently have it. Am I just misunderstanding something?
