he said he had his dvd player set to 16×9 and it was showing up as letter box. when he changed it to pan and scan mode, then it showed up in 16×9. thoughts?

Hey Steve,
would any portable dvd player work as a monitor, as long as they have the composite video cables (i think that’s what they’re called, the red white yellow)
when i looked at some portable dvd players online, it looks like they have the input jacks for those cables but not out-going.
also, do they work in 16×9? i am planning on shooting in stretch mode on my dvx100a. you’re feedback would be appreciated. thanks.

looks like from ur earlier post, it wasnt 24p advanced, and if not, then its still ntsc but shot to look ‘like’ 24p. so, premiere was probably unhappy rendering out non – 24p (or ntsc set up in a way which can be reassembed to 24p, which premiere does under the hood) to a 24p clip.

Hey Steve, have you ever worked with 24p footage? my flow is similar to urs except with the compression, however i’ve been having a hard time getting the timecode to match up. thoughts?

i am also running sp2 (xp pro) but am able to preview thru my firewire. dont know which dll it is thou.

bummer, i thought there was a more automatic way to do this, but your’ right, thats not hard to do it that way. thanks noah.
