But I do know a bit about Magic Bullet Looks since I use it quite often
You see
You cannot animate between presets

However
You can use a MBL preset and animate the parameters of the Matte,Lens and other effects applied in the preset

Like
For example,you can animate the vignette frame by frame for that blockbuster effect

But
You can’t make a keyframe,set it to blockbuster,move forward in timeline and make a new keyframe with that Artistic Effect preset.
If you do that then it’ll abruptly change the look in the second keyframe without a smooth transition.

Only the parameters of the effects of a particular preset can be keyframed to make MBL transitions/animations.

You could try out Magic Bullet Frames 1.1[For AE CS4 and above] for your de-interlacing/scanline removing tasks

Restart PC,open up Vegas and see if it works this time.

Convert to .MP4 OR to .WMV and try reimporting those files into Vegas
MP4 and WMV works like a charm in Vegas

You shouldn’t forget about Vegasaurus! [Or however you spell it lol]
It saves a lot of event pan/crop keyframes as presets

Normally by default Vegas can save only 1 event pan/crop keyframe UNLIKE filter packages

Well Vegasaurus saves all the event pan/crop keyframes as presets.
That way users don’t have to create new keyframes again and again for creating wiggles/shakes and stuff
I think Vegasaurus supports masks too.
Haven’t tried it out but I read a lot of reviews about it.
It’s a plugin totally worth trying out 🙂

I’ve been using Sony Vegas Pro 9.0e since 2011.
Started using Vegas Pro 11.0e from 2012 🙂

Your best bet would be to increase your RAM for starters.
If your PC’s graphics card doesn’t support Vegas Pro 11 then might as well downgrade to Vegas Pro 9.

Alright,as for the technical part of it.
Right click on the video preview window and hit preview device preferences.[The window the the PREVIEW(Auto) option at the top]

Go to the Video Tab
Make sure you set the Dynamic RAM to 0
And set the rendering threads to 2. [i.e. if you’ve got a dual core OS or 2 cores/processors in your CPU.The number depends on the no. of cores you’ve got]

Hit apply and OK

STEP 2:
CTRL+ALT+DEL
(Task Manager)
Stop all processes or irrelevant programs running on your PC

STEP 3:
Go to My Computer—>Control Panel—>System and Security—–>System——->Advanced System Settings
Go to the ADVANCED Tab

In the performance sub-header click settings.
Go to the DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION TAB

Select the 2nd option [Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those I select]

Hit ADD
Browse over to Vegas’s root directory, and select the Vegas.EXE file
Click Ok
Hit apply and ok
Restart your PC

Open up Vegas
Hit render AS

Render as 6MBPS 720p HD [WMV]

Over there make sure quality is set to sharpest [100]
And override default compression settings is UNCHECKED.

Then as for video,set it to best.

And lastly set your preview window’s view mode to preview(auto)

And also
Use REGISTRY CLEANER to tune up and optimize your PC and also,clean up the registry,temporary files etc etc

HIT RENDER and see the magic 😀
It should solve your issue 100%

Chroma Keyer’s a good way of removing the alpha channel[black BG] of your images.
Try out that plugin and oh,did I forget to mention it’s available in Vegas by default?

The best plugin suited for that purpose might as well be Boris RED cuz’ that’d give you more precision where keying out stuff is concerned.
But you could do the same with chroma keyer but you’ll need to tweak the parameters a lot and it’s really hard to get satisfying results.But it’s worth a try though.
