Vegas rendering slows to a crawl and crashes ridiculously often?
[This is my first post on these forums. Please do note that the name on the left is my name, so please don’t knock me off on the grounds I have a false name because it’s actually the result of my parents being clever.]
Anyway, I used to have an old computer with about 2.6 GHz processor and 2 GB RAM. I render three-to-four-minute videos on about a weekly basis. After Effects ran at snail’s pace on my old computer, but Vegas could render these videos at about 20 minutes each without a large amount of issue. Very few of these videos had effects; they were typically just a picture and sound, with occasionally subtitles and some panning. I almost always rendered in WMV, usually in HD.
However I just switched to a new computer and suddenly rendering has slowed to a crawl to the point where the estimated time remaining will hit up to two hours and the bar hasn’t even hit 1% completion for the same kind of video, yet AE will render slap on videos of the same caliber within five minutes. My new computer has 2.0 GHz processor (which I believe should still be sufficient) and 8 GB RAM. Uninstalling and reinstalling has done nothing…and meanwhile for some reason I now have to save compulsively every 30 seconds because it seems to freeze up and crash anytime it tries to play anything with any form of crossfade or transition.
Is there anything I can do to fix this or am I stuck with AE and other programs? I generally prefer using Vegas, as I’m more familiar with it.
Both computers use Vegas 11.

Vegas 11 certainly doesnt like this new system.
But you have moved to a newer computer with less
processing power, Why?
GHz processing power is too very important. Also does

Are the processors 2, 4 or more core? Same operating system and 64 bit?
Any missing drivers on the new computer?Windows 7 Pro64, 16GB RAM, SSD boot drive, GTX 570 Graphics, Vegas Pro 11 and VP10 just in case

Your best bet would be to increase your RAM for starters.
If your PC’s graphics card doesn’t support Vegas Pro 11 then might as well downgrade to Vegas Pro 9.Alright,as for the technical part of it.
Right click on the video preview window and hit preview device preferences.[The window the the PREVIEW(Auto) option at the top]Go to the Video Tab
Make sure you set the Dynamic RAM to 0
And set the rendering threads to 2. [i.e. if you’ve got a dual core OS or 2 cores/processors in your CPU.The number depends on the no. of cores you’ve got]Hit apply and OK
STEP 2:
CTRL+ALT+DEL
(Task Manager)
Stop all processes or irrelevant programs running on your PCSTEP 3:
Go to My Computer—>Control Panel—>System and Security—–>System——->Advanced System Settings
Go to the ADVANCED TabIn the performance sub-header click settings.
Go to the DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION TABSelect the 2nd option [Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those I select]
Hit ADD
Browse over to Vegas’s root directory, and select the Vegas.EXE file
Click Ok
Hit apply and ok
Restart your PCOpen up Vegas
Hit render ASRender as 6MBPS 720p HD [WMV]
Over there make sure quality is set to sharpest [100]
And override default compression settings is UNCHECKED.Then as for video,set it to best.
And lastly set your preview window’s view mode to preview(auto)
And also
Use REGISTRY CLEANER to tune up and optimize your PC and also,clean up the registry,temporary files etc etcHIT RENDER and see the magic 😀
It should solve your issue 100%My PC specs aren’t that great and trust me,I know how that feels.
