i believe the format is DV and when i look at the properties of each video file it says divx video. In order to get it to just edit on adobe i needed to download the 3ivx codec. It runs fine in the adobe program i just want to be able to play it on vlc for other people

i hope that helps a little clear things up. also i have been using the 3ivx codec in adobe b/c that seems to be the only one that works. how can i make sure that when i export the movie it will run without losing resolution on a friends computer who might not have 3ivx.

so i have multiple clips from a star wars movie and am trying to link it up with a certain metallica song. I already unlinked the movie audio and deleted it and set up how i want it to look for a movie. Now i just need to figure out how to export the entire thing (the multiple clips put together my way and the metallica song). when i try and just export the movie both video and audio it gives me two different files, one for audio and one for video. how can i get the two to be linked and just make one movie with both the audio and video.

that is to say can i export all of the video files to a file that adobe supports making it one file and then re-import it in and link it with the audio?

so once i group all of the video and audio clips then i should be able to export them as one movie file?

well im making a star wars movie where i take different scenes from the movies and link them up with metallica music. the 3ivx codec seems to be the only one that works with my video files that are avi and 2 GB big. the divx and xvid codecs both don’t work. anyway i was able to do most of the project with the 3ivx codec but to check the exporting feature and to see how it would turn out i made a short demo. the quality of the video was way worse then the original video. are there any suggestions how i should export the video to get it back to the original video quality?

any ideas about when the video files being imported are really large. with 2 gigs of memory and a single AMD athlon 64 processor 3500+, 2.21 GHz is there much i can do to make editing it smooth and not so laggy. the video files are 2.05 GB. any advice would be great. thanks

with elements i still only get the audio from the movie file. the movie file says .avi but i don’t konw what type of codec it has. it plays right now with vlc player but will also play with media player. if someone could get back to me about how to get either pro or elements to import the file and show the video part that would be great. im kind of new at this sort of thing but i got it to work once in the past using pro but accidentally deleted the project. thanks

i think the codecs are xvid but i don’t know how to check. is there any way i can convert them into dv before importing them?
