    processor recommendations for adobe premiere pro 2

    im trying to use adobe premiere pro 2 and the video is very laggy. thinking about upgrading my system, mainly the processor. any advice on which processors work best for pro 2

    A dual processor (I prefer AMD) with 2 gigs of ram and A GOOD PCI VIDEO CARD WITH AT LEAST 256 RAM (nvidia 7800GT for example)
    Use the computer only for editing to keep out the worms lol (no internet)

    any ideas about when the video files being imported are really large. with 2 gigs of memory and a single AMD athlon 64 processor 3500+, 2.21 GHz is there much i can do to make editing it smooth and not so laggy. the video files are 2.05 GB. any advice would be great. thanks
