An engineer I ran into in LA says he tested the Dreamcolor and found it pretty horrible…. they couldn’t get it to match the color on a CRT.

Eizo however make GREAT little LCD’s. We use them on our Flame. The only problem with them is their viewing angle is pretty narrow

    Was there a supermeet?

I know Autodesk canceled their user meetings…..

and I imagine if Apple did say anything about anything someone would have stayed up late enough to post it in CAPS on the cow 🙂

I don’t think it’s possible. The cripsy/jumpy look you get from high shutter speeds is due to the lack of motion blur in your frames. Once you’ve filmed and have motion blur baked in – it ain’t coming out.

It looks though like it only records in regular ProRes, not HQ?

I’m really glad that AJA is so ProRes stalwart. It’s such a great little codec, and with AJA involved hopefully Apple doesn’t get too many chances to muck it up 🙂

And so much for our litle RED->ProRes dailies conversion jobs we had going….

I’m not holding my breath. We get what Apple gives us whenever they give us IF they give us. Those who leak info are dragged into the ravine behind Headquarters, lynched and buried in concrete so as not to ever be heard from again. It’s really a masochistic relationship the users have with the providers in our world, eh?

Frankly selling ProApps to a company that a little more…. interactive with it’s users would be great. Like AJA.

    They’re probably really big stills?

Render them one at a time. That’s the only way I’ve ever gotten around the problem.

I run to the Cow too quickly.

I didn’t have the psf23.98 RGBA output set in Final Cut.

Proof that User Error is often times the culprit 🙂
