I’m now doing it in FCP. Can’t seem to get compressor to read my TC correctly.

little arrows in the Preview window of compressor let you adjust the TC.

But it shouldn’t be doing this in the first place

How is the XSAN deployed? How many stations, was it set up by a certified tech, etc?

seems like the 1st culprit. XDCAM should play fine otherwise, even off a firewire drive.

Curtain on layer 3
matte for curtain on layer 2
video under curtain on layer 1

right click layer 3. select “travel matte luma”

it will look at layer 2 to figure out the matting.

Red Rushes will make it VERY hard to retrace your project back to RED. If you Log and Transfer your ProRes files, it will be MUCH easier to go back.

But yes, FCP is slower than RedRushes for making quicktimes.

More than likely the mixer worked at 24fps when he should have been working in 23.98/29.97. Video speed, not film speed.

Try this: put a 99.90% speed effect on your audio file and see if that fixes it.
