Are you running any other background applications? If so, shutting them down might be a good idea. Does this error come up with any other plugins? Have you installed any other plugins recently?

The best way to accomplish this task would be to use the Automate to Sequence option. Essentially, what you do is:
a) Place all your stills in the project window into a separate bin
b) Select ‘Automate to Sequence’ via the flyout menu option of the project window.This process will add the default transition between all images.

Adobe no-doubtedly has a good business plan and certainly makes great products (Photoshop, Illustrator). However, my guess is that the reason Premiere Pro hasn’t made it to the top is due to its lack of basic editing features. Adobe Marketing may want to advertise only the big features (multi-cam, clip-notes), but very few people appreciate the little things or tweaks the software adds.
As an aside:
I was watching a commercial on the local FOX affiliate and a few of the lower thirds were directly from the Premiere’s template designer. 🙂 -
Let me clarify a few basics.
Project Window: Stores all your footage
Timeline: All the editing is done here
Program Monitor: Your edits are viewed in this monitor[magnare] “Once I’ve made edits, I’d think I should have someplace to hold those clips until I need them, or as a holding place pending further editing.”
That is why you need to use nested sequence. You edit a small portion of your project in one sequence and work on other small sections in new sequences. When your project is completed, create a new sequence and join all the sequences together.

Just as an aside: I really haven’t had much success at all with Ritek. Looking at various recordable media forums, apparently the quality of Riteks is going downhill.

Has all MPEG related functions have been disabled in the trial version.

I have tried and tried hard to use Vegas, but for some reason I just can’t use it. I have used a lot of different NLEs, but using Vegas has been a big problem for me, because of the way it works. I don’t like its timeline feature and it just takes too much time to make the most simple cut.. But, that is my opinion. You may also want to post on the Vegas forum to get the other side of the picture.

Shouldn’t be a problem at all. HOWEVER, I would reccomend that you use a flowchard to assist you with this process, otherwise you can get lost.

I would reccomend using an application such as Canopus Procoder to convert the tapes to the same format. You will avoid a lot of headache this way.
