You should be able to import M2T files, if you use the HDV preset.

Looks like your frame rates are causing the problem. Your AE file’s frame rate is 24, where as your DVD one is 29.97.

There used to be a program that used to do this. Unfortunately, the website has disappeared along with the program. However, you can experiment with an MS Word template and see if that works.

This usually happens when the drive letter changes. Fortunately, this is an easy fix. Right click on the missing files in the PROJECT WINDOW > Link Media > “click on files”

Pressing ‘enter’ does not impact the quality in anyway. You only pre-render (aka Enter) if you want to ensure that your export to tape works OK.
