I use laptops as well and unfortunately, at this time there aren’t any great video cards. I am using the nVidia 7800 256mb card and it works fine. However, take a look at the Precision series, as they usually ship with decent graphics cards.

It is possible.
1. Edit > Preferences > General
2. Change the ‘Still Image Duration’ as required.– Aanarav

1. Load your footage onto the timeline.
2. File > New > Title
3. Go to the titler templates
4. Look for the letterbox categoryApply title over entire video.

Just to add onto this particular tip:
A lot of the cycore plugins, such as the rain filter can be used and installed in Premiere Pro.– Aanarav

IMO Premiere Pro’s authoring functionality is very limited and cumbersome at best. I would highly suggest taking a look at Encore DVD.[prochris] “On the subject of limited DVD space, I’ve got about 5 hours of PAL DV footage. Would all of this be able to fit on a sinlge DVD (Dual layer DVD’s aren’t an option) with respectable quality settings?”
Usually, 2 hours is pushing it. 5 hours? Forget about it!
