    Hey all
    I’ve got a bit of a prob here…

I’m authoring a video, and have made a custom DVD menu in photoshop. I’m splitting the video up into chapters, according to what they contain. e.g. Surfing in one chapter, a wedding in another. what if I’ve got a section of video that needs to be in two chapters at once. Obviously, I could just put the video in both places, but I’m short for space on the DVD. Is there no way to just hava a ‘shortcut’ to the video, or a placeholder, so as to save space on the DVD? Or if I just insert the required video into two places on the timeline, will Premiere autamatically not include two full copies of the video required?

On the subject of limited DVD space, I’ve got about 5 hours of PAL DV footage. Would all of this be able to fit on a sinlge DVD (Dual layer DVD’s aren’t an option) with respectable quality settings?

    Thanks again
    Chris

5 hours on a single layer DVD. Forget it, unless you want to see your optician shortly.

    Chris,
IMO Premiere Pro’s authoring functionality is very limited and cumbersome at best. I would highly suggest taking a look at Encore DVD.

Usually, 2 hours is pushing it. 5 hours? Forget about it!

I had burned 3hrs:20 min at about 3000 plus kbps. The final quality was aceptable. (about a slp vhs or better). Also depends of the original quality.
Just make a try but; it could be a poor quality DVD & very unstable playback.
