The reason its not working is because you are trying to import a mixed image sequence, one that contains PSDs and TGAs. Separate the two file types and put them in different folders. That should solve the problem.

Yes you can. But, I am not sure if AVIs can preserve transparency. Since, I am away from my editing system, try this out:

Scenario A: AVI Export
1. File > Export > Movie
2. Click on “settings”
3. Go to the video tab
4. Can you change Color Depth to “Millions+ of colors”? If so, then that should retain transparency.

Scenario B: TARGA export
1. File > Export > Movie
2. Click on “settings”
3. In the general tab, change file type to “Targa”
4. In the video tab, change the color depth to “Millions+ of colors”

Premiere Pro doesn’t have the best Quicktime encoding capabilities. I would recommend that you purchase QuickTime Pro from Apple. Then, export your time line as a DVAVI file and compress in the H.264 format via QT Pro.

Not sure where you got that from. I do not have such a tutorial, but we can work on a solution for you. Post here as to what you are looking to do and lets see if we can create a technique.

Your 2 options are:

a) Cineform Aspect HD
b) Canopus Procoder.

I would highly recommend Aspect HD as it will certainly help you with other projects as well.

Premiere Pro does indeed have much better handling for larger projects. In fact, Premiere Pro can now “optimize” the application for performance or for memory. Take a look at the public beta and give it a shot.
