You might be best off writing it to tape and recapturing.

May 4, 2007 at 6:04 pmWell we’re shooting with a Sony HVR-Z1U which only does 1080i and our final output is 720p. I was trying to figure out how to convert our footage so we can ework in 720p (into after effects and so on) We’re also using google Earth pro that will output uncompressed avi’s in 1280×720.
So… How do I convert my footage into a 720p format that premiere can handle without loosing any image quality?

May 4, 2007 at 9:21 pmJust bring 1080i material into After Effects in a 1280X720 comp and scale it down. Oh, wait, After Effects doesn’t like HDV.

Without Cineform Aspect HD, I have no idea how to accomplish the task.
The way I would do it is to export to Cineform HD AV at 1280X720 and use it wherever I needed it.

a) Cineform Aspect HD
b) Canopus Procoder.I would highly recommend Aspect HD as it will certainly help you with other projects as well.

May 8, 2007 at 12:23 amHmmmm… Cineform eh? I’ve read a lot of posts about that. Demo worked pretty good too.
Thanks for all the help.
I thought there might be some way to do it easily within premiere I just wasn’t aware of but apparently not.thanks!
