IMO Encore improved quite a bit, although the ability to import different frame sizes is still not available, it really has gotten better, especially with the slideshow feature, the chapter endpoint feature and a bunch of other tiny things, that had to be done manually earlier. And Audition has improved drastically. I am not an audio guy, but from what I have read, most users approve of Audition.

Yes, that is what I meant. Select a clip with multiple effects applied. In the effects control window, select a few of the effects and apply it to other clips.

Not sure what you mean. But there is a timecode effect, where you can apply it to a sequence, clip or transparent video.

Primarily I use the laptop to edit DV footage, but I have edited HDV footage, with not not too much difficulty. -

All my editing is done on the newer Centrino laptop. Works just fine. My specs are 2.0ghz, 1GB RAM and an 80gb 7200 rpm drive. -

Not much of a difference.

Effects could always be copied and pasted individually. Simply select the effect in the ECW and paste it in another ECW.

Not a dreamy look, but there are ways of achieving that. Also, the new lightning filter might help. -

Yes, only 1/2 a point. I base my reviews by what they have improved and then start taking of points for what they should have improved on.
Media management is a big thing and I am currently working with 18 hours of footage in one project and the initial steps of organizing footage seems to be a pain, but it gets the job done. If it was a complete show stopping thing, then I might have given in 2 or maybe even a 1.

David,
It means that the audio to project ratio has to be either 1:1, 1:2 or 2:3 for Premiere Pro not to conform.For example, if your audio is at 48khz and that is the same as your project then it should be fine. Similarly it goes for 32khz audio in 48khz projects.

I haven’t had any problems with it. However, I would reccomend installing version 3.xx and not version 4.0, because it has been problematic.
