because the Canon HV20 is only HDV any firewire drive should be fine, but personally i would look into getting a esata raid and accompanying sata card for your express slot.

Unless it is a short enough video you will need a HD-DVD burner to make an HD-DVD, ether way you will need a HD-DVD player to play a HD DVD. However you can make a standard definition from your HDV video by sending it through compressor (you are on a mac so I assume you use FCP, DVD SP & Compressor) When you build the DVD in DVD SP as long as you set it to 16×9 it will play wide screen on a widescreen TV.

A cheeper and easier way to show it in HD would be to get an Apple TV and convert your video for that, the Apple TV supports 720p

A Mac Pro cannot run 10.3.8 any Intel mac would have 10.4 on it, so I assume that you must mean 10.4.8. 10.4.9 is out now up date to that and see if the issue persists.

Attach the composite cable that came with the camera and get some extensions to run it to a splitter box and then connect the HDTV’s to that. If you are running only one camera then keep it stationary on a tripod because if you don’t people watching on the HDTV’s will get sea sick watching it.

First update your OS (10.4.9 is out) if the issue still persists, reset the PMU (Power Management Unit), if that douse not work then boot from a known good system. If you have the same problem booted from a known good system, then it is something hardware, if it acts normal booted from a known good system, then it is software, most likely something screwy with the OS. I would then reinstall your OS.

that still wont make it look good if he is trying to put it on a DV timeline, graphics never look good on a DV timeline.

what are your sequence settings it it is DV then most graphics you put on it will look bad.
