The reason I sagest different boot drives for each is because it is hard to say what conflicts if any there may be. And you would hate to have a potential conflict screw with projects, ore even worse corrupt your project.

Yes it is a little more work, but I think it is totally worth it when it comes to protecting the valuable projects you want to use in FCP 5.

I would recommend creating a completely separate boot drive for each version of Final Cut.

Click on the Apple Logo in the upper left and click on software update.

This checks all the Apple software on the computer to see if there are updates available.

And yes if you have 5.1 it is free, if by chance you really have 5.0 it is not free.

Well I’m up to 6 iPhones, 3 Mac Minis, 2 Apple IIe’s and a ball of string with no problems. I started compressing my 2k Feature about an hour ago and its 1/4th done, and cover slow still works like a champ on the iPhone.

Not to shabby if I do say so.

the EASY thing to do is copy the itunes folder from your music folder to the external drive, then open itunes while holding down the option key. this will let you select to open the itunes library on the external.

By default itunes is already set to keep the library organized and when you choose the library on the external itunes automatically switches the import location to the external.

Then just delete the library on the internal
