[spence77] “Do i need to letterbox it? or just do a 16:9 timeline? “

Only letterbox if you want it letter boxed.

    [spence77] “Also is HVD 23.98 or 29.97?”

That depends on how it was shot. Just like DV different cameras off the ability to shoot at different frame rates.

just drop your sequence onto a DV timeline and then render it, you can then output that to your mini DV deck.

Like I said learn as much as you can about the HDV format if you plan on working with it.

[spence77] “well on the “view” pulldown menu i was just trying to get an image to pop up on my LCD screen by selecting different settings”

HDV doesn’t just play out firewire like DV douse. If you are going to be working in HDV you really need to understand the format. HDV uses a GOP structure, and because of this GOP structure it douse not play out firewire you must select print to tape and then wait for the long conforming process to finish before it will go back out.

Personally I always have thought that HD DVD would win out simply because of the name. It is easier to for the lay consumer to grasp the concept of HD DCD just by its name, I have many times even heard the average Joe refer to a BlueRay disk as an HD DVD simply because it has HD video on it and it looks like a DVD.

[The Dagfather] “I’ve just cleaned my mac. “

What exactly do you mean by cleaned?
Physically cleaned, or cleared off the hard drive by erasing and installing?

August 21, 2007 at 3:23 am in reply to: WORD for .mac

[Donna Smoot] “My issue is that on the new computer is a Word for .mac Trial program. Whenever I click on one of the .docs from my desktop to have it open, it automatically triggers the Trial program asking me if I wish to use it”

All you have to do is simply trash the trial version (and empty the trash) and install the full version. then remove the links in your dock because they are connected to the trial program, and add links from the full version.

Also your subject heading is vary misleading. .Mac (dot mac) is a service that Apple sells (it is great by the way) and is has absolutely nothing to do with Microsoft office.

The new iMovie 08 will handle your camera just fine.

Just be aware that iMovie 08 requires a G5 processor or newer.
