July 29, 2007 at 5:05 pmWe have NEVER removed ONE link to an Apple Knowledge Base document, Oliver. Ever.
Are you on psychedelics again???

July 29, 2007 at 5:07 pmI’ve posted this in other threads as a workaround…
Instead of duplicating sequences, try copying and pasting the entire sequence into a new empty sequence. Seems to have solved the problem for me.
Until I tried this, it was happening a great deal with one of my projects that has many duplicated sequences.

My apology if this was a system glitch, but please check this post:

> Sincerely,
> OliverI posted it last night. Note the link under the “From Apple:” is gone. It was there last night when I posted it, as I checked afterwards. Today it’s gone. Why? All I can presume is that you are using system software that scrubs certain links from posts. Is this incorrect? When I tried to post this morning to explain to “J” why it wasn’t there, I used the word “censor”. This caused the post not to go through. Removing that sentence allowed the post to pass. Again why?
I’m not trying to be argumentative, but if there are certain policies about which type of web links can or cannot be posted, it would be nice to know. Feel free to contact me offline if you’d like. Sorry if this is just a big misunderstanding. Thanks.
Sincerely,

All I can presume is that you are using system software that scrubs certain links from posts. Is this incorrect? When I tried to post this morning to explain to “J” why it wasn’t there, I used the word that rhymes with “sensor”. This caused the post not to go through. Removing that sentence allowed the post to pass. Again why?

July 29, 2007 at 5:36 pmHey Oliver, thanks for posting that Knowledge Base info. It appears another user has a functioning work around (regarding the disappearing render files ) for the moment. Now if Apple could address the slow Motion 3 in FCP6 render issue, I could attempt to convince the powers that be to reopen the FCP2 suite for use with clients on a tentative basis

July 29, 2007 at 5:54 pm[walter biscardi] “Also one BIG gotcha that we were unaware of as was our VAR. Premiere and Encore do NOT work on PowerPC G5’s. So I’m actually returning one entire suite back to Adobe”
Your VAR should have known this. It’s no secret. Encore/Premiere Pro/Soundbooth on the Mac are Intel-specific. You also get OnLocation, which is Windows-only, but will run under Boot Camp (though I haven’t tested this). The other apps (Photoshop, AE, etc.) are Universal.

July 29, 2007 at 6:01 pmMotion has other issues that need to be solved first. Speed can come later. Stability with the current OS should be the primary concern.
To be honest, we don’t much care whether you use FCS or not.
All the best,

July 29, 2007 at 6:04 pmThe original Serious Magic product, DV Rack (which On Location is), worked fine using Boot Camp.

July 29, 2007 at 6:07 pmI haven’t been experiencing that Render issue, but I think that is because my workflow as always been what the Apple article says to do. When I work on sequences and make changes, I duplicate them, but put the DUPLICATE aside and continue.
BUT…This still should NOT be happening. With FCP 5.1.4, this didn’t happen…renders stayed associated with both sequences. So they did mess something up. And they do need to fix it instead of saying “change the way you do things, because something that used to work no longer doesn’t.”
And Oliver, to be fair, I did not see that post where you linked to the Apple article. As a Forum Leader, I get e-mail notifications of all posts made, and looking at all the ones I got in that thread, I did not see yours. Maybe an error occurred when posting it? Dunno…anyway, I didn’t get it, so it wasn’t posted at all.
Here’s the link…although I know you posted the body of the text (Thank you).

July 29, 2007 at 6:13 pmI didn’t see Oliver’s post either. He posted the link on a different list, and I saw it there, but not his message with the link on this forum.
All the best,
Tom
