Thanks for confirming what I thought I read. I have ordered a new FCP/Mac system that includes the LHI, Dreamcolor and the HDP2. Unfortunatly, I did not have the funds for the color tool. I hope I will be able to make small adjustments to the 709 settings until I can afford the proper claibration tool. If you have any suggestions on setup until I get the tool, I would greatly appreciate it. If not, I do understand. I am working on a very limited budget and that is part of the reason I did not order a FSI monitor to start with.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Save your pennies. It’s a pretty crucial part of the operation.

How is your monitor hooked up? Display port or dvi?

I ended up calibrating the monitor with my macbook which is still running vs10.4.11 of the mac os. Haven’t found the solution yet for using the latest version of snow leopard on my macpro.

    good luck.

I unplugged on of my computer monitors (DVI cable I think)not my output for AJA Kona LHI. So I am comming from the graphics card of the Mac pro. What is the difference in display port and DVI? I guess I should know this but not sure.

    Hey guys.

I got a replacement monitor that had the same problem and will hear back from a technician next week. Pretty annoying. I’m aaaaaalmost regretting going for the DreamColor.

If your monitor’s firmware is not updated, there where calibration problems when using display port, but DVI works just fine. Even if you had a display port to DVI adapter (which is what I use as I hook my display port laptop up to calibrate as my monitors are extended from my MacPro to my desk in another room).

Once you are done with calibration, you switch back HDMI/HDP2 monitoring.

From the release notes of the latest version of the firmware:

    VERSION: TR137.SL071.BL167 Rev. A

    “FIXES:
    – Corrects an issue that prevents calibration over the DisplayPort input using
    the HP Calibration Kit.”

Yes, I have done all those things. I moved it to another system running 10.4.11 and got another error. Greg Staten a
DreamColor Solutions Architect contacted me and said he would send the old 1.0 version of software for me to try. He also said that I really do not need the calibration tool because it is calibrated at the factory for 709. I guess I will keep trying (and reading).
