Sorry, mine is working very well. Is this a fresh install of Snow Leopard you are using?

DreamColor Solutions Architect says that color tool will really come in handy as the monitor ages, but it is factory calibrated and does not need to be calibrated again. I have two machines that will not run the color calibration tool, have tried for 8 hours. Giving up on it today.Michael S. Allen

Eh, bummer. Sorry, Michael. That sucks.

August 28, 2010 at 1:28 am> it always claims the USB is not connected < It is looking for the Windows calibration profile to update, and you are on a mac without the systems level device control over the USB connection. That is the problem with proper calibration, it requires all of the devices to continuously talk to each other to maintain the profiling and HP makes PC\'s not Mac\'s gary adcock Studio37 Post and Production Workflow Consultant Production and Post Stereographer Chicago, IL https://blogs.creativecow.net/24640

September 1, 2010 at 8:41 pmDouble checking, I did the firmware, I loaded the APS software, but are there Mac drivers I need to load? I do have the disc that came with the monitor but I do not see any mac software on it. I see drivers for windows, but are there drivers for mac and could this cause the problem of the “check the USB connection” loop I am in?

No drivers that I am aware of, no.
So, you have DVI from computer to monitor.
USB from computer to service port of monitor.
APS module on the USB hub of the monitor (not to your computer).
Right?

September 1, 2010 at 9:35 pmYes I have done those things. One more question. In the monitor firmware field all the numbers are correct for the newest version. However, I do not see REV. A (revision A) at the end. Should I see it in the monitor info field.

October 29, 2010 at 11:20 pmI don’t know if this helps, but I just recently had a similar problem with a DreamColor. On Windows, if I connect from the graphics card DVI into the HDMI port on the monitor, then when I try to calibrate, I get the endless USB loop error saying to connect a USB cable to the monitor, even though the USB cable is connected and the computer sees it using the HP Display Assistant.
If I plug the monitor in using DVI to DVI, then it sees it. I didn’t change anything on the computer.
But another issue that I’m having is that the monitor isn’t calibrating correctly. The white point is shifted to a green hue. I put some footage up when I first got the monitor and it seemed way to green. I used an X-rite Hubble to read the white balance (with a full screen 1023, 1023, 1023 sample) and it isn’t reading what it should be.
Here’s the numbers that it read. The first set are what the monitor says is the target for the setting. The second set is what is actually read out on the Hubble software.
WB – 6500 – actual 6225
x .313 y .328 – actual x .319 y .322RED x .686 y .308 actual x.6910 y .2975
BLUE x .145 y .045 actual x .1274 y .0464
GREEN x .206 y .715 actual x .232 y .7028My eye is telling me that something is off too.
Anyways… any suggestions?
