Dreamcolor Calibration
Posted by Bjarki Gudjonsson on June 4, 2010 at 9:33 amHi guys.
I’ve had a DreamColor and HDP2 set up for a couple of months now and they work very well. However I just received my HP DreamColor Calibration Kit. Having upgraded my monitor’s firmware from a PC via USB without a hitch, the calibration software constantly says I have to connect a USB cable from my computer to my monitor. I’ve tried different cables and different computers (PC and Mac) but no dice. Any ideas?
Thanks,

June 4, 2010 at 1:38 pmThere’s a USB service port under the monitor next to the power switch. Use that.

June 4, 2010 at 1:57 pmI did. It’s all set up correctly. I’m thinking it’s a monitor defect.

June 4, 2010 at 2:05 pmSo you have a USB cable from the service port back to your computer, the calibrator coming out of the USB hub on the right side of the monitor and dvi to your computer?
Also I should mention, that splash screen comes up no matter what. When you start the calibration process and the software allows you to select the Dreamcolor (instead of just a generic LCD monitor) then you’re all good.

Did you read the second part? Here it is again:
“Also I should mention, that splash screen comes up no matter what. When you start the calibration process and the software allows you to select the Dreamcolor (instead of just a generic LCD monitor) then you’re all good.”

June 4, 2010 at 3:03 pmSorry. That comes up. But after I select the DreamColor in the APS, it tells me to connect the USB which is already connected.

And it doesn’t let you go further?

What version of the software are you running? Make sure to download the latest from XRite as it’s Snow Leopard compatible, it’s v1.1.
