Yes, that’s the one I’m using. Pretty frustrating. I’ve been googling the issue and can’t seem to find anyone else having this issue. I’m guessing it’s the monitor.

Again, I’ll ask, when you first start the software, do you get the option to calibrate the DreamColor or just a generic LCD?

Hi – I answered that a little earlier:

“Sorry. That comes up. But after I select the DreamColor in the APS, it tells me to connect the USB which is already connected.”

The APS recognizes the DreamColor for what it is – it doesn’t require any other monitor to be connected via USB.

    Thanks again!

    B.

Yeah, sorry. I went fishing this weekend so my mind is still on the water.

Perhaps it’s time to call HP.

Also, you have tried a hard power down with the power switch underneath, right?

    Hey guys,

Don’t know if this thread is dead now. I’ve run into the exact same problem with the APS software not recognizing my usb connection. The usb cable is connected to the port under the monitor. I’ve attached other USB peripheral devices to the monitor’s USB ports and they work fine so the signal seems to be routing through the monitor correctly.

I am running APS vs 1.1 and snow leopard 10.6.4. I’ve tired connecting my monitor through the HDMI on my Kona LHI card running a progressive RGB signal and through the DVI connection on my Radeon HD 4870 card. Both give the same results. My computer is an 8 core 2.26 intel xeon,

    Any insight would be helpful.

    thanks,

    Nathan

    Hi Nathan.

I’ve got a little update for you. I called my local HP dealer who took my monitor in for testing. They were able to replicate and analyze the problem and the monitor was replaced. They tested the new one, I took it back to work and lo and behold – same friggin’ problem.

I’ve tried running the APS on a Mac and a Windows machine, hooked up from DVI and HDMI (on a Windows laptop). The only known bug is calibration through the Display Port, which is not currently supported. I’ll get back to you when I get further.

    Cheers,
    Bjarki

For calibration RGB and progressive don’t matter as the monitor has it’s test patterns built in.

Do a hard restart of the monitor, which means powering off the switch on the bottom.

Thanks for you prompt response guys. I’ve tried the hard restart with no luck. Is there another way to calibrate the monitor if the APS can’t be made to work?

    best,

    Nathan

Not properly. The APS will work as it would with a standard LCD, creating a profile on your computer, but that doesn’t cut it for us.
