If you don’t already do this, using a program like Acronis True Image is highly recommended.
Do an image of your hard drive after you install Windows and then another one after you install the rest of your software.
    Periodic backups are also recommended.
That way, if you ever run into problems, you can restore your system to an earlier state in very little time.

[Juliana Pinto] ” i instaled sony vegas pro 10″

Was it the latest version (10.0c)?

    “and changed the aviplug.dll”

I wish you hadn’t done that as now your system isn’t in it’s original state which can make troubleshooting harder.
Refresh my memory as to why this is necessary.

“but i can’t open avi files”

    What kind of avi files?
Where did they originally come from?

Let me guess. A re-boot solved your problems?
Either way, I’m glad to hear that things are working again.

    i have Vegas10 on Win7 x64, all proper install n stuff here

Sadly i have to report that your custom x86.dll doesn’t seem to work for me.

When i replace it in the I/O-Folder and open up Vegas10 it won’t recognize any .avi files no more but when i put the old x64.dll back in it suddenly shows .avi files in the media explorer again.

But the bug that .avi’s can’t be used in the video line still remains… Very dumb and awkward problem here!
