When you try to render to avi, what’s in the Save as type and Template boxes?

Glad to hear that you got things working but I’m still curious as to why you can’t render to DV-AVI as this is what Vegas started on many years ago.
Have you ever installed any codec packs?

yes i did, i had the klite pack.. that i instaled a year ago.. but then now i had this problem… followed this tutorial and didnt worked.. then i tried another one and i had another problem.. the guy told me to instal the mega klite one. so i uninstaled the one i had and instaled this klite mega.. well i wont search now why i cant render to dv-avi, but im having another problem.. when i try to play a video, theres no audio… and the same video in sony vegas works perfectly.. then i checked ‘gspot’ and it says the audio is mp4a: MPEG-4 AAC but it doesnt say if its working or if i dont have the codec. i hate codecs.

I guarantee that installing those codec packs is the cause of your problems.
Vegas forums are full of users like yourself who did this and ended up with a LOT more problems than they originally had.
The biggest problem is that some of these codecs take over from the codecs that were originally installed.
Uninstalling them is no guarantee that you’ll get a properly working computer back again either 🙁
The only known cure is a reinstall of windows followed by reinstalling of all your software.
I know it’s not a pleasant task but it’s the only sure-fire way to get things back to normal.

1 TB. drives are really cheap these days.
Go to your local big box store and you can get one for under $100.00
Once you get things back to normal, NEVER install a codec pack again.
If you do run into problems in the future, come here first and ask for help.
