It’s off in the viewer. Really don’t know what to do, this is such a pain. I just want to get the audio like it is on the tape! Why is this so hard..

So I guess my only options are capturing it in 48 or 32 or all the other options. Then if none of them work, adjusting the audio manually which is inaccurate. Why can’t the computer just tell what the audio sample rate is! That must be something that can’t easily be read if Final Cut Pro doesn’t do it automatically..

I can tell you what deck later tonight. It doesn’t have much display though, so I don’t think it says the audio sample rate.

I changed it to 32k once and didn’t get that message, but then the sound was WAY off. Is there another possibility other than changing it to 32? Do I have to change the bit too?

Thanks a lot. This cleared things up. So I can move with the wireframe but ultimately should adjust the numbers. Makes sense.

Oh, okay. So you’re saying the quality is the same but the Export to DV is less usable. I have been using them in FCP but I have to render the audio always (not sure if that’s normal).

I’m just trying to figure out the best way to take this footage from the DVD. When I compare the Export to DV clip with the footage on the DVD, the color on the DVD picture looks much more vibrant and detailed. I’m not sure what to do..

And what does that mean? Is the quality better or worse?

Okay. They will be used in a Final Cut Pro project. I’m going to just show some of them on the screen while someone else talks about them. It’s used in a documentary-type project, and the final output will be DVD, regular size (not widescreen).

Thanks. What if I’m just going to show the picture with no movement? Should I still bring it into After Effects for the ease of the PAR correction?

I’ve been getting really confused in Photoshop as to how I’m supposed to set the pictures up..
