Well if I converted the sequence to 32 khZ, I could play the 32 khZ clips easily but not the 48 kHz ones, right? So I don’t think that would make things any easier by itself.

Thanks a lot for all your help, that cleared it up for me . So Final Cut Pro should handle it and I don’t even have to convert them if I don’t want to. If that’s true and it’s not going to cause me any problems down the line, then that’s the best answer I could ask for. Or I wanted to convert them i could use Soundtrack Pro or Final Cut Pro’s item level render.

Hi, Rafael. I had to respond because I’m working with animating stills in my project. So you’re saying an image’s quality could suffer from it being too detailed?

Because now I feel like I should downconvert some of my big images to only as big as they need to be. What’s the best way of doing that, just evenly dividing both numbers the same? In half?

Yes, they said Final Cut Pro does not do the best job. But if I did use FCP to do it, is it done automatically? I was reading something about an “item level render”, would that just change it to 48 khZ permanently?

Thanks so much for the recommendation, guys. So I’ll be rendering in ProRes 422. I hope that gamma thing isn’t something that comes up..

One question though. Will ProRes give me the best quality for my project? Is the Animation codec better or worse than ProRes?

Are you talking about the ND Filter? There’s only two options on my camera for that, 1 and 2.

What should I do if there’s heavy backlighting, other than push the Backlight button?

I really only have enough time to test a little and then check the tape a little, so not much time. I might be shooting in two conditions, outdoor in the sun, and possibly indoor on a stage with lighting, or a plain room with lighting.

I’m guessing I just set the white balance for outdoor or other presets..

There’s also a white balance setting for florescent lighting. Though I don’t know what is florescent and what is not..just the long tubes makes it florescent lighting?

There’s also a one-touch white balance where you focus it on a piece of white paper or something else white and it does it that way. So I don’t know whether to use the outdoor or indoor/florescent lighting presets or to do the white balance one-touch thing..
