    Hi Pratik,
It looks like the comp or layer you are using for your flag’s color map isn’t high resolution enough. If you are exporting at 5760×1080 then your comp should be 5760×1080 and the layer you have 3D Flag applied to should also be 5760×1080. Also, the map you are applying to the flag should also be at least 5760×1080.

It’s best not to apply the Flag plug-in to the layer that is the color map. The plug-in should be applied to a solid that is Comp size.

If it still looks blurry, send your project file to support (at) zaxwerks.com. When using the OpenGL renderer there is a max map size inside the materials editor that can down-res your maps and might need to be increased.

    HI Guys.
Sorry we haven’t figured out a fix sooner. There’s a problem when running Mojave and AE 2020. For most people it doesn’t appear if you had already been running the software before updating to AE 2020 which is why it took us down the wrong path for awhile but we are now making progress. We fixed the “no entry point” problem but then another one popped up that was a hidden by the first. Will let you know as soon as we know more.
    Best,
    Zax

  • Hi Peter,
There is currently a compatibility issue when running OSX Mojave and CC 2020 at the same time. We are working on it and have fixed one of the issues, but once we fixed this first issue it revealed another. Will let you know as soon as everything is working.
    Best,

Check inside the 3D Flag’s setup window. In the output panel, make sure the renderer is set to Ray Tracer.

send the current project to support(at)zaxwerks.com. It’s probably something simple. Are you SURE you are using the ray tracer?

got the files… you have Lock Flag Image turned on. This setting is preventing your texture from loading completely. Uncheck this setting and you’ll see the image turn crystal clear. Once the image has loaded completely you can then lock the flag image and it will render faster when you change frames. However, it’s best not to have the image locked during final rendering just in case you get low on RAM and 3D flag doesn’t release it.

    Hope that helps,
    Zax

Check your Solid settings. The size of the solid determines the resolution of 3D Flag’s canvas. So even if you have a high resolution input image the solid size is what sets the final rendering.

Also make sure you are using the Ray Tracer, not the Open GL renderer to get the best results.

If you are viewing at 25%, do a sanity check and change to 100% to make sure the jaggies aren’t an artifact of AE down sampling the image.

Check your Solid settings. The size of the solid determines the resolution of 3D Flag’s canvas. You are also viewing at 25%, so as a sanity check flip to 100% to make sure the jaggies aren’t an artifact of AE down sampling the image.
