Piece o’ cake. Drag a material from the bin of material swatches and drop it onto one of the little green dots in that screen grab you showed at the beginning of this thread.

It will be assigned to the next available materials dock and you’ll see a new number on the green dot you dropped it onto.

If you can’t see all of the appropriate panels, click the Materials button along the bottom of the window. This will configure the panels to show the Material Docks (6 squares with little green numbers next to them) and the Material Splits panels (the one with the red split arrows with little green number dots between them.)

    Hi Ben,

In order to be able to edit your live 3D scene you must create a layer and use the Convert for Smart Filters command on it. Then you can apply 3D Invigorator to that layer and you will see it listed in the Layers panel. To edit the scene double click the name “3D Invigorator” in the layers panel.

By the way, you can do this to any number of layers, letting you have multiple 3D elements all live, in the same Photoshop file.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Ben,
You can’t create a split on the Front or Back faces, only the Outside and the Holes. Other than that your process is correct.

    Hi Paul,

ProModeler’s system requirements topped out at OSX 10.11. In 10.12 Apple made significant changes under the hood that made a mess of things. ProAnimator, on the other hand, works fine in 10.13.

  • Hi Steve,

Sorry, our customer support guy seems to have slacked off in a big way. Let’s see if I can catch you up.

First off, even if the holes don’t come into PA correctly you can still fix them inside of PA. The trick is you want to end up with the hole path and the outside path both on the same PA layer.
    Do this:
1- choose the path selection tool (middle of the three arrows)
    2- select the hole path
3- switch to the point selection tool (right of the three arrows)
    4- Cut
    5- Select the outside path
    6- Paste
This process puts the hole path onto the same layer as the outside path.

The problem you ran into with the Illustrator files not being able to be read is typically because the Compression option was left on during save. You can find information about it on this FAQ: https://zaxwerks.com/vector4.shtml or you can just Google the error message and find links to the answer.

    Hope that helps,
    Zax

    Hi Mark,
Flags are opaque by default. Sounds like you have used a partially transparent texture. Write to me: support at zaxwerks dot com so we can connect and debug your project.

OBJ files always come in white because textures are not part of an OBJ file. If you look at the Element demos you’ll see all OBJs come in white. Like Ed says use the Collect Files command to gather all your textures together into one folder. Then rebuild the material in Element just like they do in the tutorials.

Are you trying to run the installer from inside of a ZIP file?
You must unzip the zip file before trying to run the installer.

The warning only appears when you try to use a new preferences file with an old version of the software (or open a new project file with an old version of the software). It appears that you are mixing installers and have pieces of old and new installs on your computer. At this point you’ll need to clean the software and preference files from your computer and reinstall using the latest version (5.1.0). Cleaning is the important first step because you have moved things around and the installer no longer knows where the old files are.
