Like I said it is NOT an Apple thing because other applications allow you to have more then one project open at a time. For example Adobe Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, FileMaker, and many others all allow you to have multiple projects open at the same time.

Its NOT a good idea to go into the package contents of anything and start changing things. That just asking for problems to come your way.

I don’t even think that you can do that on windows with those same programs. But I don’t use ether.

If there is it would be up to the maker of the program. Its not an Apple thing, its a issue with the way the software developer made the program.

With kernal panics there are so many potential causes that one cannot properly trouble shoot it via an Internet forum. I recomend making an apointment at the genius bar of your local apple store and let then take a look at the machine. It sounds like it is most likely a hardware problem though.

Sounds like the origional archive footage did not have the exact same aspect ratio or dimentions as what you are converting it to, or to what your FCP timeline is.
An easy solution would be to scale your footage a little in FCP.

To get a perfect circle in FCP would be quite difficult because you would need to keyframe the while thing. Look into using Motion where you can set a motion path that an object will follow.
