HI there,
it is some what a complex process. what you have to do first is to export a still from a section of the movie you want to freeze where that yellow effect is in the movie you have supplied. Then in Photoshop be creative with that still you have just exported and recolour it in any why you want. Then you need to bring in this still into Apple Motion and place it above that frame in exactly same position. After that you need to work on some transitions from the movie to your frame. Bear in mind that frame can be infinite in time.
You also have to split the movie in two or more sections to reconnect again from still to movie. Split option is available under the edit Menu. You have to select the movie in the timeline if you want to split it. Then use blur and levels filters to make the transition.
Good Luck

HI Back,
No need to send a load of crash log and etc. Motion does this at times, I am hoping that if you delete the preferences of motion you should be OK. Try this first please.
Delete user preferences:
You can resolve many issues by restoring Motion back to its original settings. This will not impact your project files. To reset your Motion user preference settings to their original state, do the following:
1. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences—the tilde (~) represents your Home folder.
2. Drag the “com.apple.motion.plist” file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.Remove receipts and reinstall Motion
Another approach you might consider is reinstalling Motion. To do this effectively, you need to first remove the application and its receipts, then install Motion and use Software Update to install additional updates. You don’t have to remove everything that was installed with Motion. Use the following steps to completely reinstall a fresh copy of Motion. Make sure that you have your installation discs and serial number nearby before starting this.
Note: If you had previously installed the Motion 2 Registration Incentive, you will need to run that installer separately.
1. Quit Motion if it’s open.
2. Open the Applications folder.
3. Drag the Motion application to the Trash.
4. Go to /Library/Receipts.
5. In the Receipts folder, drag any receipts with names begin with “Motion” to the Trash.
6. Reinstall Motion from your installation disc set.
7. When finished, use Software Update (choose Apple > Software Update) to update your software to the latest version.Good Luck.
p.S.

June 12, 2010 at 8:27 am in reply to: Motion, optical flow, skipping frames, no good blendingThis is a tutorial I original made. The Guru guy has stolen this from me and repack it. Anyway to see my tutorial about Optical Flow go to: https://embryo.me.uk/wp/2009/03/18/video-tutorial-frame-blending-available-now/.
Morphing does not blend photos well if the photos are completely different shape, say that shape 1 is much smaller than shape two, when Optical Flow is applied it is impossible for Optical Flow to recreate blends between two shapes. You must try to make shapes in some order so that each shape that comes next is quite similar in shape and size. in this case Morphing works well. Any problems send me another message. go to my site and watch this tutorial.
