Well, I did a server reboot at a point an seems that issue did resolve by itself. Kinda weird. My CatDV server is now up and running.

Thanks Bryson! Do you know the CatDV DB schema well? Have you played with it and updated metadata fields already? I’d be interested in giving that a try for sure!
Feel free to contact me and I’ll walk you through what we do at Atempo 🙂

    Thanks again.

    Hi John,

Just came through your post today. You mentioned several things about DPX management and partial restore. Atempo ADA 3.1 (soon 3.2) handles archiving of DPX files. It can read the DPX file header to read its metadata and store it in the ADA database. It then becomes searchable in the ADA GUI. You can search on DPX files with a specific frame rate for example.
ADA 3.1 also offers native partial restore of MXF files.

Don’t hesitate to contact us if you’d like more information.

PS: I’m also in favor of a new “ARCHIVE, BACKUP and ASSET MANAGEMENT” forum on Creative Cow 🙂

    Hi Marivin,

Have you implemented an archiving workflow from your CatDV to the Sony Petasite yet? Been working with Matthew Stamos to integrate CatDV with Atempo Digital Archive (ADA). You can archive assets from CatDV (with their metadata) to the Petasite via ADA. This is done by just changing the status of an asset in CatDV to “archive”/”restore”. You can setup different type of archive workflows between CatDV and ADA:
    – archive asset + metadata,
    – archive asset + metadata AND delete the asset from the SAN
    – archive asset + metadata on ingest in CatDV

I’d be happy to tell you about CatDV and ADA.
