Not sure that would work because all the text is part of the video (i.e., not on separate layers). See screenshot of a portion of the video. The text that needs to be blurred is the date.

When I draw a mask and apply a Gaussian, the blur bleeds into the text right below it.

I’ve had this issue before but never this bad where the two elements are so close to each other.

Forgot to ask, how would the script know where to trim the comp? Would it be able to use the marker I was hoping to be able to create with the expression (please see my original post)?

Thank you for your reply. You wouldn’t happen to have the script that you used to trim the comp handy would you?

I don’t know how to script unfortunately :/

Amazing! Thanks so much. By any chance is it possible to have the script also print the duration? If it’s too much trouble don’t worry about it. The most important was to be able to have the frame sizes.

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for your idea. My client does have Mac but when I tried it on mine, both audio files play (which is what we want) but I can also hear both (not what we want).

Is there a setting perhaps that I’m missing?

I tried this using QT 7 and it works. I guess I can ask them to download QT 7.

@Jeremy. Thanks for your reply but I was hoping to be able to do this within the FCP itself. Also, the “v” shortcut doesn’t work because it requires too many steps. I need a way to do it with a single shortcut.

Unfortunately I had to downgrade back to MacOS Sierra because After Effects CS 6 was literally freezing MacOS High Sierra. Thanks for the reply though!

@Daryl: I’m having this same problem. When I do a RAM preview the current time indicator does not move.

What exactly did you do to fix it?

This problem started happening after I updated to MacOS High Sierra. I’m running After Effects CS6.
