  • The problem is, that my local television station run everything on AVI DV-PAL. So they want it delivered in that codec.

I am running everything progressive, so fields don’t matter.

But interesting what you’re saying about FCP not handling rescaling very well. I think that may be the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas on what OSX program I can ingest my ProRes422 footage into, getting AVI DV-PAL out in the other end?

I have experimented with this before, but I could never find a good enough conversion. Tried MPEG Streamclip and Compressor going between them. But I couldn’t get the rewrapping to work. The signal got worse even though it shouldn’t as I’m only rewrapping. Probably because of wrong settings.

Any step by step approach, anyone?

    Thanx

  • Great!
Thanx for the help guys! This was just what I was looking for.

  • Thanx for the list Ty. I´ll keep your offer in mind, regarding custom made music scores.

    About the list:
But I´m actually trying to sort through the different vendors of music. It’s easy enough to find loads of royalty free music with google. But I would am looking for a more expensive and high quality providers of music. Looking through the different sites today I find 95% crap and 5% good stuff. But these are all spread out on the net.

That’s why I was curious, if someone knew a site, which specialized in really high quality original royalty free music, and not the usual bunch…you know. 🙂

To narrow things down a bit: It seems to me, that the music that is on sales on the different sites, are not as contemporary and modern as real top chart music is. But I am not talking about hip hop music or hardcore techno kinda way. I´m actually looking for some down to earth…indie movie style….accoustic music. But not this Americana-music I keep seeing around. Not country music. More like soundtrack from the movie “Where the wild things are” and maybe “Juno”. Something contemporary and honest.

But of course, it could be, that this kind of music, is usually not on sale on these sites. But maybe I need to contact artists, which do not work in this business of producing music for drama and TV.

Sorry for the bad english…hope I get my point through 🙂

November 6, 2009 at 6:36 pm in reply to: How do I add an audio effect to a whole track?

Hmm…I was afraid, that this was the case.

    Question 1.
What if I add a compression effects to all 30 clips, and then I want to change the settings a bit. Are they linked, or do I need to go in on every single clip to adjust? Is there any way to link these settings?

    Question 2.
What’s the fastest way to copy and effect from one clip to another. Can I mark a clip, and press some copy-shortcut to just copy the effect, and then select another clip, and just press a keystroke? Or do I need to in the Filters every time?

  • Seems the HPX is always recording onto 4 mono tracks. But someone gave me a fix on the Premiere Pro forums, on how to route the channels.

Seems to do ok with premiere. Plays back pretty smoothly 720P on my Intel 2 Duo with 2 GB ram.But have heard a lot of bad things about Premiere CS4. A lot of people are experiencing bugs with the new version. It seems VERY slow when opening, and I am working with small projects (commercials). So it must take a lot of time to load a full feature.

  • Thanx. This was exactly what I was looking for. Problem solved

  • Was it free?
