To be able to unlink a video-only clip and have it redigitized with audio.

  • Does anyone have any experiences with the DVrack program? On the website they talk about how it is used in the field connected to a firewire in a camera. But what about using it as a waveformmonitor on the computer. (Using a seperate cheap computer)? Is this possible?

I would like to set it up like this, please tell me, if this is not possible:

    1. Connect premiere to my ADVC-110 box.
    2. Connect my composite signal from the ADVC to my broadcast monitor
    3. Connect the FIREWIRE-OUT signal from the ADVC to a seperate computer with DVrack software and a firewireslot (IS THIS POSSIBLE??)
    4. Buy a cheap flatscreen monitor for the seperatecomputer and place it on my editing desk.

Will this work? Does the ADVC-110 send signal out through the fron firewireport, when recieving a firewiresignal in the rear port?

  • What about the Sony LMD 1420 or 2020 (14 and 20 inch) ?

Anyone know anything about these? They are LCD, so maybe they’re completely out of the question. What do ya know?

  • Just got this recommended at a good price monitor. What do you think about this?

I haven’t read all the before posts accuratly, but I have experienced the same problem a while ago. I think I remember the cause being the way the video/audio was recorded in the camera. I transfered the video from the tape to another tape using a hardware video/audio-mixer and played the monotrack to both L and R. Then I digitized the same clip with the same machine, and everything was fine. That’s why I think the problem lies in the camera.
This occured in a cheap small sony camera. Don’t know if it is a setting or a fault. But my guess is, that it has something to do with the setup menus in the camera.

It works again. Don’t have any 3rd part capture card, or any plugins. The weird think was, that this error sticked to the project. As soon as I loaded another project it was fixed. But I did manage to fix the ‘faulty’ project. Fiddled with the mixer, pressing/unpressing all the buttons. And now it works. Not really sure what the problem was.

    🙂

I have not set the “safe during write” feature ON. So it’s not that.
