I’m recording a celebrity doing voiceover for a documentary. I didn’t have the camera in house when I wrote the fisrt post. I do now and have tried it. I have to put the record volume level most of the way up, but it does seem to sound OK. When I bring it into Soundtrack Pro and put some compression on it, it sounds pretty good.

The files are NTSC DV on the Vegas system and will go into a DV sequence on the Final Cut system. Will the Vegas render files as Quicktime DV?

  • I have a similar question about Final Cut Pro. If I do pre-black, pre-timecode the beginning of a BetaSP tape, will FCP accurately layback the timeline in assemble mode on the beta deck? I need to have my program start exactly at 1:00:00:00 for TV stations.

Also, it it possible to have FCP do an accurate insert edit into an existing BetaSP tape?

    Thanks,
    Will

The subtiles file I get from the professional source has a .txt file that has timecode references that point to graphic files that contain the Chinese, Japanese, etc. subtitles. Can DVDA use these?

How easy is it to drop these imported files into DVDA? I won’t have any idea where they should be in relationship to the video because they will be in foreign languages.

    Thanks

The company event is Aug 9-11 at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. I am looking for 3 local videographers who will be covering different fun events that the company’s families will be involved in, like white water canoeing, the Cog railway, Cooking classes, visit to a cattle ranch, that kind of thing. Each videographer will be a one-man band gathering material to play on the hotel’s cable channel and to be cut into a montage for the final night’s banquet.

We will be shooting DVCAM. Owning equipment is a plus.

You say “dual core Gateway and HP are out there right now for $1000 price range” What else should we be looking for in a ready-made computer that will allow us to use Vegas 6 to best advantage without breaking the bank?
