What capture card is your FCP using ?
Are you going to edit at a lower resolution or in full HD res ?
The SRW1 has HD SDI dual link in/out,monitor out HD SDI and SD SDI video, plus HD and SD sync inputs,so you could take an SD downconvert in to FCP.I’m not sure if the SRW1 requires any optional boards to do this.Beware of complications if the SD downconvert is of 23.98 material.

  • The SRW1 is working as a digital audio embedder, enabling your Blackmagic card to receive embedded audio down the SDI video cable. If you turn it off,it will no longer be performing this process.Your Blackmagic breakout cable also has connections for balanced analogue audio inputs or AES/S-PDIF digital audio inputs.A third-party card might also substitute for the SRW1.

Not sure what inputs the monitor has, what’s the model no ? AJ I/O will provide component analogue video out for monitoring or use the MBP dvi monitor out.I don’t have personal experience with it,but the Seritek bundle looks like it is designed for this usage.G-Technology make ‘G-Raid’ drives which are only fw400 & 800,but they also make G-Sata drives. The I/O ld that I’m looking at has balanced xlr audio monitor outputs.

Best advice you will get will be from the lab you intend to use for the print to film, they will almost certainly have an optimal workflow and preferred delivery format. If it is shown theatrically from 35 you will encounter the slowdown.
Having seen the results,I would not get overoptimistic about how dv looks on blow-up.

Select section of timeline or clip,go to ‘Editing’ menu next to timeline, then use ‘simple titling’ or ‘simple titling on black’ as appropriate.
