John,
First I will address the punch in feature … If you look across the top of the page you will see a boxing glove, just highlight where you want to punch in at and click on the boxing glove … Make sure the track that you are wanting to fix is in record mode … The way I like to do it is just record on the track below it and cut and paste … The one thing you have to watch for is to make sure that where you punch in and out at has a space between audio … Just record the first git track without effects … I usually will lay my percussion down and do a scratch rhythm track, record the bass and then go back and re-record the rhythm … Once you have your track just do a mixdown of just that track by highlighting it then go to EDIT > MIXDOWN > SELECTED CLIP, once you have that done just save it and then you can write it to CD from there … I hope this helps ……. William,
Take each tune one at a time into the edit side of the program making sure that the cursor is at the beginning of the track, click on GENERATE > SILENCE when the window opens up you can type in the length that the silence needs to be … The standard is 2 seconds … As far as getting more tunes on your CD there isn’t a way that I know of and still keep the MP-3 format unless you can find a disk that has a larger storage capacity then you are currently using ………. First thing is to rip the whole DVD (audio and video)and import it into Audition … Once you have done that you can fix what you need to fix right click on the video file and mix the corrected audio back into the AVI file… You can do a number of things to fatten it up starting with EQ and then going to Hard limiting … If you would like you can E-mail me an MP-3 sample a minute or so in length and I may be able to help with settings for you to use to clean it up … E-mail to loganonestudio@aol.com ……….. If you are hearing the other tracks, then you should be hearing yourself … It sounds like a gain issue VS a software issue to me … I know when I record I keep gains low to keep from getting any bleed through from the headphones … Are you using a headphone amp or just running it out your sound card and or mixer? If you don’t have a headphone amp I would suggest getting one … WILLIE

Norman,
Check out Audio secrets 1 tut from Aug. 4Th, one thing he doesn’t mention however is that you can go into digitizing real easy so take the noise out in small amounts starting about 50 to 60 % and drop that percentage by 10 to 15% at each attempt … If you use the Parametric EQ you may be able to isolate the freq. and remove it that way as well … If you don’t have the success you are looking for you can always E-mail me a sample MP 3 of a minute or so to loganonestudio@aol.com and I can see if I will be able to help … Don’t expect to remove the noise completely but you should be able to at least pull it into the background ……..
