Sorry, forgot to mention a couple of things…

    1. I’m in Australia and therefore use the PAL format

    2. The project is in 16:9

Should I just use the DV Pal widescreen settings in Photoshop?
I only ask this as all the text and images still appear distorted.

So I’m guess this means there is no way around it?

  • As I said in my previous post, I just went through those steps and it all started to work again. Not sure which one of them fixed the problem but I have a feeling it was premiere struggling to work with my external sound card. I figure turning the onboard card back on is probably what fixed the problem.

This doesnt make sense to me as I have done this with previous videos using the same camera, but did not have this problem. It only seems to have arisen since I went to PP2 from PP1.5

I need to export the footage to tape so I can have it converted to Beta SP to be played on Television. Its really important that I figure out a way to get past this.

    Anyone else with any ideas?

I’m not really sure what you mean by project settings but I guess this might be it: D1/DV PAL 16:9 Widescreen (1.422)

I was the only thing of relevance I could find.

The project was shot in DV and edited as the same. The camera is also set to DV when I try to export the movie to it.

  • Not sure what exactly fixed the problem, but I formatted, turned my sound card off in the bios, turned it on again, then installed XP and Prem Pro. Now it just all seems to work…

The specific look that I am trying to get is the “24fps motion stobe effect”. Sorry I wasn’t more specific, but I didnt really know how to explain it properly until now…

I have figured it out! It seems that for some reason my external sound card and its drivers were clashing with PP2. So I formatted my PC, turned on my on-board sound card in the bios, re-installed XP SP2 and all the standard essential drivers, then just installed PP2, and it all works perfectly.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to re-install my external sound card so I can start using Pro Tools again.

    Any ideas?

Thanks to everyone for upir help so far…

I have actually uninstalled PP2, re-installed PP1.5 which I have been using for the last 6 months, and I am having the same problem.

The only other thing that I changed at the time of upgrading to PP2 was I also upgraded windows to XP SP2 as PP2 is not compatible with SP1. Is it possible that my capture card is not compatible wih XP SP2?
