  • The following configuration has never been officially tested but seems to be OK based on anecdotal reports from customers over the years…

    – Media 100 i v8.2.3a
    – Mac OS 10.4.11
    – QuickTime v7.5
Do NOT go higher than QT 7.5. 7.5.5 will render M100i unusable and 7.6.x will restore video playback but you will have no usable keyframes in the bins.

    Oops…

I mentioned “licensing changes” in the subject and then nothing about it in the message.

As I hinted, the “unclear HDx support in the Release Notes” issue” was brought to my attention by a colleague of mine via email, an email in which they had other questions for me as well. When I started the post, I copied and pasted from their email to the subject of the post and forgot to remove the “licensing changes” part.

Sorry for any confusion that may have caused.

    Hey Daniel,

Not necessarily, send an email at support@media100.com.

They have a quick an painless method to make this kind of road block “go away”.

Since this knowledge could be used for “less than honest” purposes, I’m sure you understand why I can’t post any more detail than that in a public forum 😉

It came to my attention this morning that the Media 100 HDx cards seem to get short shrift in the Release Notes.

This can understandably give an HDx user the wrong impression that M100 Suite is not for them. To be clear… Media 100 Suite v1 absolutely DOES work with HDx hardware. The new features (excluding those related to progressive media or “newer” frame rates) work on HDx systems.

    Hey Andrew,

    Guess which one it is?

    Additionally,

    – What versions of things are you using? OS, QT, M100 and anything else relevant.

    – When you say the other systems don’t exhibit the problem…
A: are ALL your systems SDe systems?
B: are you importing the exact same files into the other systems?

    Hey Bob,

Any way you can make one of these files (a small one) available to us for download?

Send an email to support@media100.com and we’ll take it from there.

    …sigh… I know. Thanks.

    Look for 13.0.5 real soon.

Until then, as you mentioned, you should find that the acquired video plays back just swell, it’s only out of sync during acquire.

    …SIGH…

  • Strictly speaking, the Release Notes WERE updated for 13.0.4 but…
They don’t mention what version of the AJA driver to use! Doh!

For the record, v13.0.4 of Media 100 requires v6.0.3 of the AJA drivers.
Unless, of course, you’re using an LHi card. Then you need v1.1.1.

That’s exactly who I was thinking of when I wrote that.
See my new post re: 13.0.4. It’s UP!
